The Bridge video! La video de notre passage du pont!

I promised it in my previous post, here it is, the video of TM going through the Simpson Bay bridge in St Martin. The way in was filmed by Edouard from the top of the mast, the way out was filmed by me from the bow. Click on the link to see it:

The passage from St Martin to St Lucia was fast and windy - it took us exactly 36 hours, almost all of it being upwind sailing. We had all sails out most of the time and pushed the boat pretty hard, but she behaved beautifully and we had a great sail despite a few inconveniences that always come with upwind sailing - since we were on a port tack and heeled over a good bit, opening the fridge meant receiving half of its content on your feet...

Sailing past St Kitts. St Christopher et son volcan.
Arriving in St Lucia. Arrivee a Ste Lucie.

Marigot Bay, St Lucia
Arriving in St Lucia was a real pleasure, and we have received a very warm welcome at the marina. Of course I could mention the bottle of local rum included in the welcome package, but mostly I am thinking of the general atmosphere here. Everyone is friendly, helpful, and always has time to give us a ride somewhere or just have a nice chat. As customers of the marina, we have access to all of the resort facilities, which includes a gym and two beautiful pools. If we have time before the charter we might take the free ferry across the bay and have dinner on the tree tops in one of the 10 best restaurants in the Caribbean... It is going to be our 1 year anniversary very soon after all!

Pool... and pool bar!
