The next chapter

After 2 and a half beautiful years on Tilly Mint, the time has now come for Bill and I to say goodbye to her. Last week was our last as official crew, and while we still remain on board for a few more days to help the new crew with the crossing preparation, Andrew and Arwyn have now officially taken over.

We could hardly have asked for a better way to end our time on board: the owner and his wife came out for 6 days to take part in the Antigua Sailing Week - so we finally got to race Tilly Mint after all! The new crew had already been on board for a week and the week was a great combination of exciting sailing, nice chats with the boss, good time with friends and relaxed dinners at anchor. On the last day we even made it to the podium, a perfect finish for a very enjoyable week.

The boss flew home yesterday and we spent a great night with some of our favorite yachtie friends, saying our goodbyes as most of us are heading in different directions for the Summer. Now it is time to turn the boat around for one last time, and get her ready to start her Atlantic crossing by the end of next week. We are both exhausted, but happy that we had a chance to say such an amazing goodbye to the boat. Tilly Mint has been a good home for us for the past couple of years, and it has been a great adventure - but now it is time for a new one.

Bill will be flying home for his father's wedding, then heading up to New England to cruise on his own boat for a while.

I have decided to stay away from the ocean for a few months, and will go explore Colombia in May and June, then Hawai'i in July. August will be family time back in France, and by September I should be ready to head to Palma to look for my next ride.

A page is turning now, and I can hardly wait to see what the next chapter has in store for me...
